Before any additional boarding or daycare days can be reserved, one initial (trial) daycare and behavior evaluation must be completed. This allows our staff to observe your dog in a pack environment. During this visit we will monitor your pet's behavior, evaluating his/her level of socialization and watching for "red flag" behavior (displays of aggression, extreme anxiety, etc.). This visit serves as a getting-to-know you session for your pet and for you! Same day trial daycares and/or boarding reservations are strictly prohibited. Boarding or daycare reservations will not be confirmed or held until the trial daycare is completed.
All pets must be dropped off prior to 1 PM each day. All dogs must be dropped off between 7 AM and 1 PM on weekdays, 9 AM and 1 PM on weekends. It is imperative that all dogs have ample time to acclimate to their surroundings and their fellow boarding dogs prior to the end of the day. We strictly enforce the 1 PM drop off time to ensure that all dogs have time to settle in as a pack and become comfortable before daycare's end. This allows us to provide the best possible care to all pets staying with us and makes for a calm, stress-free experience for everyone!Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate drop offs prior to our lobby hours.Holidays may have modified drop off hours. Please consult our calendar for up to date changes to regular lobby hours.
Vaccinations must be administered in a veterinarian's office by licensed staff.
Clients are responsible for maintaining up to date records with our office. Pets with expired vaccinations will be denied service, as the health and safety of all pets in our care is our number one concern.
Please provide your pet's records in person, via email, or by faxing to (812) 338-5288. Click here for detailed instructions on providing your records to us!
The Dog House is a cage-free environment. We cannot accept dogs over 6 months of age that have not been spayed or neutered.
Because we take pride in our facility, please allow your dog to visit our Pea Patch (the fenced in area in front of our lobby) prior to entering The Dog House. Even if your dog was allowed to potty prior to coming to The Dog House, car rides and the prospect of playing with their friends can lead to excited bathroom situations. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
In order to maintain active client status, The Dog House asks that all clients visit at least once every 12 months, participating in either boarding or daycare. In the event that your pet has not been to The Dog House in the last 12 months, you are still considered a Dog House client and do not have to be added to our New Client Waiting List. However, your pet must participate in a new daycare/behavior evaluation prior to scheduling any additional daycare/boarding reservations. This allows us to reevaluate your pet and ensure that no major behavioral changes have occurred since your last visit. This also gives your pet a chance to get reacquainted with The Dog House, allowing for a much more comfortable experience for him or her!
