Thank you so much for your interest in joining The Dog House family! The Dog House is Bloomington's first and only cage-free dog boarding and daycare facility and we'd love to have you join us!
First, we'd love to learn more about you and your pet! To begin the process:
- Please register for a new account in our online client portal by clicking here.
- After you've successfully entered your pet's information in our client portal and provided valid vaccine records, we'll send you information on how to schedule your behavior evaluation. Click here for detailed instructions on providing your pet's vaccination information to our office.

This first visit does not obligate you to participate in future services with The Dog House (although we hope you will!). It simply serves as a "getting to know you" period for you, your pet, and for our staff. Upon successful completion of the behavior evaluation, your pet will be approved to participate in future boarding and daycare visits, based on Dog House availability.
About the Evaluation Process:
During the behavior evaluation, our staff will observe your pet's existing social skills, with both dogs and people, as well as their level of comfort in our cage-free environment. This first visit allows our staff to begin to learn your pet's unique personality and in what ways we can best serve your pet, and you! It also gives all parties involved the opportunity to ensure that a cage-free play environment is right for your pet.
- We conduct behavior evaluations Monday-Friday by appointment--evaluation space each day is limited.
- We ask that your pet spend a minimum of 3 hours with us their first day, but he or she is welcome to stay as long as you'd like within business hours.
- You may drop off any time 7a-1p and return for pick up between 3p-7p.
- Clients are free to go about their day during the behavior evaluation process; you do not stay with your pet during this time.
- The current cost for this visit is $30 per pet.
- Current vaccination records are required. All pets visiting The Dog House must show proof of rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and canine influenza vaccinations. Vaccines must be administered by a licensed veterinarian. Click here for instructions on how to provide your vaccination records.
- All pets must be leashed while in our lobby/parking lot. Please ensure your pet is wearing a well-fitting collar/harness with an ID tag during their visit. No prong or choke-style collars, please. ID tags are available for purchase in our lobby. All collars MUST have a quick release buckle.

Why Does The Dog House Require an Evaluation?
- The Dog House is a completely cage-free boarding and daycare environment. It is imperative that all dogs, regardless of whether you plan to use daycare or boarding services, be comfortable in a communal, group setting.
- Our facility is a wonderful place for social dogs to interact with other social dogs. It is not always the best option for dogs who are not socialized or who simply don't enjoy the company of other dogs. And that's okay!
- Our behavior evaluation is the first part of an ongoing process to make sure your pet (as well as the pets s/he will interact with) is comfortable, safe, and happy in the environment we provide.
- We strive for open and honest communication with all our clients about their pet's time with us and always welcome any questions about his or her behavior or experience at The Dog House!
